At Urban Cape we are happy to offer Cape Interiors Design, a design consultancy service which is comprehensive yet flexible.
Our design service is customised to best suite the individual client’s requirements. Our initial site visit will establish the design brief in order to establish the preparation of a design scheme, which will include fabric and furniture selections as well as layout plans. Our design service can be applied whether we are commissioned to work on one room or the entire home.
Cape Interiors Design can undertake contractual work, i.e. refurbishment of kitchens, bathrooms and living areas. From built in cabinetry to off the shelf solutions, we can offer advice regarding finishes and layout to one of our appointed contractors or to a chosen developer as part of the design concept.
Our collection of furniture and furnishings include elegant upholstery, fine accessories, contemporary commission artworks and luxurious leathers, all of which are offered to our clients on a bespoke basis.
As part of our service, we offer a full-bespoke design service on all timber, soft furnishings and upholstery items, from sofas, armchairs, cushions and ottomans, to consoles, coffee, side and dining tables, as well as TV and drinks cabinets.
Our Team
Martine Henry
Martine’s design career started in Australia in 1997 where she attended Sydney’s prestigious Whitehouse Institute of Design. From here, she began working for a leading US Designer, in Sydney’s Double Bay. Her first project was the design and installation of the penthouse in Sydney’s prestigious Observatory Tower, work of which was published for the Australian House and Garden.
Martine has successfully completed installations for highly regarded residencies in Sydney. Homes such as “Iona” for Film director Baz Luhrmann, “Barford House” for an illustrious US based property developer as well as the Penthouse at Woolloomooloo Wharf, home of Australian Actor Russell Crowe, to name a few.
Now residing in London, Martine continues to work in the design industry directing her talents towards specialising in furniture and interior design for Cape Interiors Design.
Charlotte Candillier
As owner of Urban Cape, Charlotte undertakes all aspects of furniture design and project management. All furniture items used in projects undertaken, have been individually designed and manufactured exclusively for us, using a combination of timber, fabric, leather and metal trims. It is with a great passion for design of unique pieces, that the furniture collection has grown to its current level to include upholstered sofas, armchairs and ottomans, leather cladded furniture as well as a wide range of bespoke timber pieces.
Charlotte’s most recent commission was the project management, complete refurbishment and interior design of a 5-bedroom villa in the South of France. This included the design and co-ordination of four bathrooms in various styles, an open plan kitchen and living area, as well as furniture design and selection of co-ordinating accent pieces. She has furthermore worked on a number of design projects including apartments in Chelsea and homes in Parson’s Green. At Cape Interiors Design we go to great lengths to find unique items, which add that individual touch to your home, making it not only a place to live, but a place to be proud of.
