Opened in December 2003, by John and Charlotte Candillier, Urban Cape offers an inspiring collection of beautifully crafted furniture and complementary accessories from South Africa.

Designed in London, and handcrafted in Cape Town, using solid mahogany, oak, beech and walnut, the collection emphasizes the natural look and feel of the raw materials used. On offer are a variety of coffee, dining and side tables, with smooth clean lines and exacting finish, deep leather sofas in rich chocolatebrown, beautifully upholstered chairs and sofas, together with an extensive range of leather and suede accessories to add that finishing touch to the style that defines Urban Cape.

In addition to our standard furniture collection, Urban Cape offers a complete bespoke and interior design service, where customers have the opportunity to create something totally unique, by either adapting an existing product in terms of dimension, materials or finishes or by producing a truly unique commissioned piece.

Adding vibrancy to a neutral backdrop, we offer an eclectic mix of hand-painted ceramics, Carrol Boyes pewter tableware, glassware infused with subtle touches of azure blue and aqua green, as well as one off statement pieces from local artists.
